Safer Healthcare Now! (SHN) is a national grassroots initiative aimed at implementing interventions known to reduce avoidable harm, such as infections and medication-related discrepancies. 

The flagship program of the Canadian Patient Safety Institute, a not-for-profit organization that exists to raise awareness and facilitate implementation of ideas and best practices to achieve a transformation in patient safety, SHN is a resource for frontline healthcare providers, health organizations, health quality committees and councils, and health ministries.

Since 2005, we have been developing customizable interventions you can put into practice to keep patients safe. Our resources are reliable, tested, and based on five years of improving care. We offer support and hands-on education to help you successfully implement interventions and ensure safe healthcare for all.
